Methods for Effective Teeth Whitening

There are a number of ways that one can whiten sensitive teeth. While it is always good to consult a physician before embarking on any protocol, the following are some ways that have been proven safe and easy to use.
Strips and Rinses: One way of whitening teeth that are sensitive is by investing in some oral rinses or strips. The strips are applied onto the enamel and then removed while the rinse can be used like a mouthwash. Both these methods can be used over and above the daily ritual of brushing. Ensuring that there is a fluoride component present can reduce the risk of gum bleeding to a large extent while acting efficiently to whiten teeth.

Home Made Remedies: Other than commercial products, one can opt for home made remedies in the case of teeth whitening. One of the oldest home remedies is applying some coconut oil on the teeth surface and then rinsing it off. The lauric acid in the oil removes bacteria that cause yellowing of the teeth. Moreover, for those who have sensitive teeth, the oil acts as a soothing agent. In addition to this, a mixture of lime juice and salt might also be applied carefully over the enamel. However, this mixture applied to the enamel only produces great results in a short duration of time.
Commercially Produced Pastes: One of the most prevalent methods for whitening teeth is by using pastes that are available at drug stores. Most of these contain carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide that help remove stains and ensure whiter looking teeth. For those who have sensitive teeth, it is a good idea to look for fluoride’ in the list of ingredients on the pack. Fluoride varnishes are a good way to reduce sensitivity and coupled with the whitening action of the paste, it can ensure reduced discomfort and increased whiteness.

Teeth Whitening Pens: These pens contain a special gel which help bring out the natural white color of your teeth.  They are safe and very easy to use and contain natural ingredients.  The pens use a combination of a whitening gel and a brush to help get rid of yellow teeth stains which can be a result of smoking, drinking lots of coffee or the effects of aging. The best teeth whitening pens also contain peppermint oil which is a natural oil that helps freshen and whiten teeth.

These pens are also very convenient to carry and you can place them in your purse or pocket and use them whenever you feel like it when you are outside from home.  Another great advantage of teeth whitening pens is that they are a lot cheaper than if you were to pay for a dentist to whiten the teeth for you.
